A Comprehensive Electronic Medical Record System
DocLinks is specifically designed to be The High Efficiency EHRTM for any size practice! We provide an affordable and secure electronic health record solution for fully collaborative healthcare delivery. Our immediate help desk support, personalized training, secure Internet-based architecture, user-friendly design and robust functionality make DocLinks the perfect solution for physician practices, multi-specialty groups and larger medical communities.
The saying "Time Is Money" is particularly relevant today as healthcare providers are expected to improve both the quality and efficiency of medical care. Most Electronic Health Record (EHR) Systems perform similar functions, yet there are substantial differences in design which affect the way each system works. Our providers have found DocLinks pays for itself by enabling them to see more patients in less time. As an example, the graph shows the difference in productivity of a single medical group while using a large system EHR and while using DocLinks. Groups transitioning to DocLinks from paper medical records can expect to see even greater gains.
There are many EHRs -- and most of them are run by very large national and international companies. So why should you consider DocLinks? We offer highly efficient software and support that is superior. DocLinks is a state-of-the-art EHR which has a fully integrated practice management system (Healthwind / Insight) to help maximize revenue. In addition, we provide on-site education programs and telephone support whenever you need. Our help desk personnel know DocLinks in depth, work for LIN Software in the United States and usually answer a phone call before the second ring. We add to that a willingness to work with you to build a system that meets all of your needs, including template modifications, custom software and interfaces if needed. We even provide MIPS guidance and consulting services upon request. We know our clients, we work closely with them, and we support them in ways that large EHR companies do not.
Many EHRs require desktop computers in exam rooms. These legacy systems create an environment harmful to the doctor-patient relationship as the physician often spends more time looking at the computer than the patient.
DocLinks is designed for use with a variety of computer types and we recognize the benefit of each. Tablet computers in the exam room allow physicians to directly face the patient, maintain eye contact and read body language, as well as, are convenient to review test results, create orders and take notes. Laptop computers and desktops are often a better choice for nurses and ancillary staff where larger screens and keyboard entry are beneficial.
DocLinks is a web application, compatible with all computer types and both Apple and Microsoft operating systems. We maintain and operate the servers, while our clients connect to us using standard web browsers via a secure Internet connection. This makes DocLinks available whenever and wherever you need it: in the exam room, office, home, or hospital.
Medication handling and e-prescribing are two of the most time-consuming tasks for providers today. Pop-up warnings used by most EHRs have been described as "death by a thousand clicks." DocLinks uses a different design strategy to make it fast and simple!
The DocLinks Medication MapTM (Med MapTM) performs a comprehensive assessment of the patient's medications to automatically display pertinent results for easy viewing. At a glance, our providers see the information they need to know before they select a medication to prescribe it. We minimize the use of pop-up warnings unless a high alert is identified! We utilize a color coding system to signify the severity level of items allowing the provider the option to view detailed information about a specific warning by clicking the colored links.
The Med MapTM is both comprehensive and simple to use. Medication lists are continuously assessed for drug-drug interactions, drug-disease interactions, insurance formulary information and drug allergies. Medication doses are assessed and dose ranges are automatically adjusted by weight and age for pediatric patients. Renal and hepatic function interactions are automatically determined by the patient's most recent lab results and medication doses are evaluated accordingly. In total, DocLinks performs 15 different assessments for every medication in a patient's medication list every time anything on the medication list is changed. By design, the Med MapTM shows you only what you need to know when you need to know it.
We believe this is both the fastest and most comprehensive medication program available today. In most instances, it takes only three quick clicks to e-prescribe a medicine. If you need to e-prescribe controlled substances, we are certified in that, too!
The patient describes being in her usual state of health until April of this year. At that time, she began having exertional dyspnea and orthopnea. She also began to notice some lower extremity edema. She was evaluated by her primary physician and an ECG was performed which showed only premature ventricular contractions. BMP was found to be elevated. An echocardiogram was performed which showed severely impaired LV function with an ejection fraction calculated between 25 and 30%. She has no history of corn disease or other cardiac illness.
The patient does have a significant family history including a sister who was diagnosed with an idiopathic cardiomyopathy 5 years ago. There is no history of coronary artery disease in her family. She has never had ruminant fever.
Her primary care physician prescribed a diuretic and potassium. She reports that these medications have significantly improved her symptoms and she has been feeling better in the past 2 weeks.
Like most EHRs, DocLinks allows providers and staff to create notes using several technologies. However, unlike other EHRs, DocLinks allows providers to create "hybrid" notes in which some sections of the note are generated by one technology (e.g. drop down menus or checkboxes) and other sections are generated with human or automated transcription. Combining technologies and incorporating DocLinks Medical Speech allows for a polished, professional outcome uncommon in the EHR world today.
The DocLinks dictation process begins with the most up-to-date version of Nuance's Dragon Naturally Speaking product. Many providers are familiar with the desktop version of Dragon Naturally Speaking used in hospital settings. The automated transcription used in DocLinks is different in several ways.
LIN Software has worked with Nuance to embed Dragon Naturally Speaking directly within the DocLinks application. As a result, it can be used anywhere you have access to DocLinks. Click a button and speak, and your words will rapidly appear in your note on any PC, laptop or tablet. There are no additional software products or dictation libraries to install. Most users find the accuracy of dictation is excellent without training exercises. DocLinks Medical Speech takes it a step further.
DocLinks Medical Speech learns the provider's speech patterns and warns the provider if it discovers words or phrases not normally used. Common phrases in transcribed text are displayed in black. Blue denotes common word pairs. Green marks words used less frequently. Words or phrases that have not been used before are displayed in red.
As seen in the illustration, DocLinks Medical Speech not only transcribes text efficiently, but the color comparison of words makes it easy to rapidly identify and correct errors.
We Handle The Rest
DocLinks is a web application which uses the common web browsers available on most computers. All that is needed is a fast internet connection. Our customers own and operate their own office computers and tablets and we take care of everything else.
DocLinks servers are managed by our staff of professionals in a secured server facility. All communication with our servers is encrypted. Software updates are performed routinely and are done without additional cost. DocLinks is purposefully written using standard web based computer languages so there is no "client software" for you to download. This allows access to your DocLinks system from any machine in any location, even in hospital settings where the hospital's security policies might not let user's download software clients.
DocLinks is sold as an affordable monthly subscription. Depending on the size of the practice and scope of customization, there is usually a modest startup cost followed by a low monthly subscription fee per provider. Unlike many EHRs, we do not charge a large initial purchase price. There are no long-term contractual requirements.
In addition to the basic EHR, DocLinks is available in 8 specialty versions. These versions are specifically programmed so workflows and decision support tools are appropriate for the specialties unique requirements. Customize templates and views for a single-specialty practice, or combine pieces of the software to support a multi-specialty clinic.
DocLinks / Healthwind is a fully integrated EHR/PM product with billing, claims processing and scheduling software. Healthwind is one of the most widely used practice management systems in the northwest.
Some new customers may have a preference of staying on their existing billing platform when they subscribe to DocLinks. In these instances, we interface DocLinks to the practice management system of your choice.

Would you like to see all of the lab results for your patient in one place, no matter which provider ordered them, where they were performed or which lab performed them? We do just that!
We're named DocLinks for a reason. Interoperability and the communication of information among healthcare providers is at the core of what we do. The DocLinks digital architecture was invented in 1998 with the specific purpose of allowing different medical groups to legally exchange medical information on their mutual patients. DocLinks functioned as a "community based" EHR in southwest Washington for many years.
After 20 years, DocLinks continues to promote interoperability and communication of information between healthcare providers, whether they are associated medical groups, lab companies, hospitals or other entities. We are passionate about interoperability and the benefits of systems in which healthcare information is exchanged.
|To further emphasize this commitment, we have decided to make a special, limited time offer to construct up to 3 interfaces for free for new subscribers. Please see "Special Offers" for details. |

Our stand-alone DocLinks E-Prescribing App allows providers to use e-prescribing tools at a minimal monthly expense.
